Keep the wick centred and remove any trimmings or matches from the wax pool. Burn it within sight, out of reach of children and pets, and away from draughts, curtains, shelves and anything else that can catch fire. Trim the wick to 5 mm before every lighting, burn for no longer than 3 hours at a time and stop when about 1 cm of wax remains. Do not move a candle while it is lit or the wax is liquid.
