About Oakven

Oakven is a small UK online shop for scented candles and cosy home decor, based in Newcastle, Staffordshire. We bring together a short, considered range of pieces that make a home feel warm on a grey afternoon - candlelight, soft textiles, solid wood and simple stoneware - things you will keep using and keep on display, not clutter that is replaced every season.

Our range is split into two collections. Candles & Holders brings together two scented candles - Fig & Cedar in an amber glass jar and Smoked Oak & Amber in a charcoal stoneware pot - with a set of three turned oak taper holders, an ash wood pedestal holder and a set of four ribbed amber glass tealight holders (supplied with tealights). Cosy Living covers a herringbone cotton throw, a cable knit cushion, a solid oak floating shelf, a sage stoneware bud vase and a speckled stoneware jug vase.

How we choose our pieces

We choose honest materials and describe them exactly: soy wax blends with cotton wicks, glass, stoneware, solid oak and ash, and cotton. Every product page lists the dimensions, weight, materials, approximate burn time where relevant, what is and is not included, and care advice - and for candles, full safety guidance. We describe our fragrances by their scent notes and the mood they bring to a room; we never make health or wellbeing claims about them.
