Fig & Cedar Scented Candle - Amber Glass, 220 g

The Fig & Cedar Scented Candle is the one we light first when the evenings draw in. Green fig leaf opens the fragrance, a heart of soft ripe fig and cedarwood follows, and a warm base of amber and a touch of tonka keeps it rounded and cosy without ever feeling heavy. It suits a living room on a wet afternoon just as well as a bedside table at night.

The candle is made with a soy wax blend and a single cotton wick, set in a smooth amber glass tumbler. The plain oak lid keeps dust off between uses - always take it off before lighting and never put it back on a lit or hot candle. Once the candle is finished, the glass makes a handsome pot for pens, make-up brushes or cuttings from the garden.

Care: on the first burn, let the wax melt right to the edge of the vessel (around 2 hours) so it burns evenly afterwards. Keep the wick centred and remove any trimmings or matches from the wax pool. When the candle is finished, scoop out the remaining wax, wash the vessel in warm soapy water and reuse it.

Burn safely: never leave a burning candle unattended. Burn it within sight, out of reach of children and pets, and away from draughts, curtains, shelves and anything else that can catch fire. Stand it on a stable, heat-resistant surface - the vessel becomes hot while burning. Trim the wick to 5 mm before every lighting, burn for no longer than 3 hours at a time and stop when about 1 cm of wax remains. Do not move a candle while it is lit or the wax is liquid.
