Description
A good shelf should disappear and let what is on it do the talking. The Solid Oak Floating Wall Shelf is a simple, thick oak plank that fixes to the wall on a concealed steel bracket, so there are no visible brackets - just a clean line of warm wood. Use it for a few favourite books and a vase in the living room, cookbooks in the kitchen or towels and candles in the bathroom.
The shelf is made from solid oak with a natural oiled finish and measures 60 cm long, 20 cm deep and 4 cm thick. It is supplied with a steel bracket plus screws and wall plugs for solid brick or block walls. Fixed correctly into a solid wall, it holds up to 10 kg spread evenly across its length.

Fitting safely: check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling. Plasterboard and stud walls need specialist fixings, which are not included. If you are unsure about your wall, ask a qualified person to fit the shelf. Do not exceed the maximum load and do not use it as a step or a support.
Care: wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth and dry straight away. Do not soak, put in the dishwasher or leave next to a radiator or in strong direct sunlight. Oak and ash are natural materials, so grain, knots and tone vary from piece to piece - yours will be close to the photos but never identical.
Delivery and returns: Free UK delivery with Royal Mail on every order. Orders placed before 3:00 PM (UK time), Monday to Friday, begin processing the same day; processing takes 1 - 2 days (Monday to Friday) and delivery a further 2 - 4 days (Monday to Friday). Changed your mind? Return it within 30 days of delivery - your statutory rights are not affected.
Care & Safety
Candles: trim the wick to 5 mm before every lighting, let the first burn reach the edge of the vessel (around 2 hours), burn for no longer than 3 hours at a time and stop when about 1 cm of wax remains. Never leave a burning candle or tealight unattended; keep it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from children, pets, draughts and anything that can catch fire. Full safety information is on the label underneath every candle. Candle holders: use only candles of the size stated on the product page and never let a flame touch the wood. Oak and ash: wipe with a soft cloth and keep away from radiators. Stoneware and glass: hand wash only - not dishwasher safe. Throw and cushion: follow the care label - wash at 30 degrees, do not tumble dry. Floating shelf: use fixings suitable for your wall and do not exceed 10 kg.
